The latest Steve Morse Band album, ‘Triangulation’, won’t be out until November 14; however, if “Texus”, the latest single from the album, is any indication, we are in for a treat. Morse, never afraid to rewrite a winning formula, has enlisted producer and fellow guitarist Angel Vivaldi to produce the album. In addition to the SMB’s mighty rhythm section consisting of Dave LaRue on bass and Van Romaine on drums, Morse has expanded the band’s sound, bringing in guitar tone master and Texas native Eric Johnson for “TexUs”. The collaboration fit like a glove with two of the best in the business, complementing each other’s musicality. Johnson’s playing allows rhythmic space for Morse’s guitar, and the trading of solos is as dynamic as you would expect from such masters of their craft. After an almost 6-year break from new SMB music. “Texus” is a delightful hint of what’s to come from the Steve Morse Band and ‘Triangulation’. The album is available now for preorder.
