Hot on the heels of their 2026 reunion tour, the other Canadian power-trio, Triumph, has reissued ‘The Best Of Triumph’ via Craft Recordings.

‘The Best of Triumph’ offers a focused retrospective of the Canadian trio’s most enduring work, arriving just as the band steps back into the spotlight for their 50th anniversary tour.

The newly mastered set is pulled from the original analog tapes. This collection presents the concise, radio-ready single edits that defined arena rock in the ’70s and ’80s, marking the digital debut for many of these versions.

Unfortunately, no new songs or rarities are offered, but the album is a solid entry point for novice Triumph fans like me.

The album kicks off with the iconic “Lay It on the Line (Single Edit),” a track that perfectly highlights Rik Emmett’s soaring guitar work and Gil Moore’s powerhouse drumming. “Magic Power (Single Edit)” brings an optimistic lyrical perspective, wrapped in an anthem built for rock radio, and transitions smoothly into the high-energy drive of “All the Way”. “Follow Your Heart (Single Edit)” and the massive “Fight the Good Fight” anchor the first half of the sequence, showcasing the progressive musicianship and melodic hooks that have placed them alongside contemporary heavyweights like Rush and Boston.

Side B of the heavy, high-quality vinyl edition continues the momentum with the cinematic “A World of Fantasy (Single Edit)” and the uplifting classic “Hold On (Single Edit)”. Mike Levine’s bass lines provide a muscular low-end support on “I Can Survive (Single Edit)” and “Spellbound (Single Edit),” leading the listener seamlessly toward the triumphant final stretch. The collection draws to a close with “Somebody’s Out There (Single Edit),” leaving a lasting impression of the band’s anthemic songwriting and arena-rock precision.

Production-wise, the remastering breathes vibrant new life into these original tape tracks without compromising their analog warmth. The only downside to this reissue is the lack of liner notes and photos.

‘The Best of Triumph’ serves as an excellent gateway for new listeners and a necessary archive for longtime fans tracking their ascent into international rock royalty. Released via Craft Recordings, the album is available now on CD, digital, and standard black vinyl, as well as exclusive color variants such as “Spellbound Purple” and “Silver Lightning”.
